The UK’s National Health Service (NHS) offers over 350 different careers paths and employs in excess of 1.7 million professionals. Pharmakia is an approved NHS recruitment agent for international recruits, meaning international candidates can submit their CV to be considered for joining the UK NHS.

If you are a citizen of a Green Country, you can simply complete the application form, and receive an intimidate response. However if you are from a Red or Amber country the NHS can not sponsor your work visa application.
Who can apply?
If you are a qualified Nurse, Doctor, Surgeon, Dentist, Clinical Worker, Diagnostics professional, Midwife or Healthcare Worker in your country. You should contact us or submit your CV for an immediate decision.
What do I need to qualify?
The English language is the first step to be qualified as a candidate for the NHS. You are offered three different ways of satisfying this requirement:
Evidence type 1: You have recently achieved the required score in the academic version of International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the Occupational English Test (OET). You must achieve the required score in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Evidence type 2: You have completed a pre-registration nurse, midwife or nursing associate programme that was taught and examined in English.
Evidence Type 3: Employer reference that you have recently practiced for one year as a registered nurse, doctor, registered midwife or nursing associate among others in a country where English was the majority spoken language.

What about my country?
The NHS offers work and work visa sponsorship exclusively to residents of Green countries.
We do not accept application from Red and Amber countries, however we encourage you to email us so that when your country is removed from the lists we can help you access work visa sponsorship by the NHS.
Applicants from Green countries can simply complete and submit the application form.

Amber List Countries:
Kenya: As of 11 November 2021, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has announced that Kenya has been added to the amber list of countries in the Code of Practice for the International Recruitment of Health and Social Care Personnel in England.
This means employers and recruitment agencies, including NHS trusts, must stop all active recruitment of health and social care personnel from Kenya to the UK with immediate effect.
Nepal: As of 22 August 2022, DHSC has announced that the governments of Nepal and of the United Kingdom have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the managed and ethical recruitment of Nepalese healthcare workers to the UK as part of a trail.
However, the MOU does not allow organisations to actively recruit from Nepal. By virtue of this MOU, Nepal is now on the amber list.
