Registered Manager: focused on children home

Pharmakia is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Registered Manager to oversee a specialised children's services facility. The selected individual will bear responsibility for the well-being of young individuals utilising the client's services, managing a team of 18 to 24 employees.

Key duties include ensuring a high standard of service, formulating support plans and risk management strategies, collaborating with professionals such as funding authorities and regulatory bodies, overseeing staff recruitment and selection, and managing an existing team, including a deputy manager and two team leaders.

Other responsibilities involve preparing and managing schedules, participating in on-call duties on a rotational basis, and possessing the ability to register with a regulatory body as necessary. The ideal candidate should possess managerial experience, preferably in a children's setting, and be educated or willing to complete a Diploma Level 5.

Responsibilities:

  • Build positive relationships with each child/young person at the home.
  • Maintain home environment for order, safety, and well-being.
  • Value and nurture each child/young person as an individual.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations.
  • Undertake the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead for the home.
  • Manage and support the staff team, provide regular supervision.
  • Be part of the on-call rota for support and advice.
  • Maintain knowledge of Safeguarding Legislation, Children Act, and company policies.
  • Address recommendations from internal audits within designated timescales.
  • Provide written reports for reviews, case conferences, and meetings.
  • Implement relevant actions identified in meetings.
  • Contribute to effective policy and procedure review and writing.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 to 5 years' managerial experience in residential care for children.
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory role managing staff.
  • Pursuing or possessing a LEVEL 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England). Applications from all community sections are welcome.
