Deputy Manager: focused on young people
Pharmakia is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Deputy Manager to oversee a specialised children's services facility. The selected individual will bear responsibility for the well-being of young individuals utilising the client's services, working with 15–18-year-old children.
The Deputy would have some time on shift and sometime based at the office for administration. You would line manage two team leaders and a team of 25 to 35 support workers. The candidate should already have, or be willing to work towards, Diploma level 3 to 5. The candidate should be experienced in supporting people with complex needs and experienced in line managing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold and promote the rights of young people with respect and dignity.
- Report safeguarding issues per policies, following safeguarding principles.
- Alert Service Manager to significant changes in service users' needs.
- Maintain records in accordance with our client’s policies.
- Conduct formal key work sessions with detailed reports for each.
- Encourage young people's involvement in service, quality assurance, and development.
- Communicate effectively with internal colleagues and external bodies.
Understanding of the full range of issues facing children, young people and/ or families including:
- Mental health concerns
- Physical health challenges
- Emotional well-being
- Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and crime issues
- Family functioning
- Domestic violence
- Substance misuse
- Housing challenges
- Unemployment issues
